I am a UK-based journalist with experience in news-writing and monitoring and television, online and radio production. I have a deep understanding of the Middle East and North Africa and a particular knowledge of current affairs, politics, conflicts, governments and societies in the Arab world.
At the BBC, I focus on Syria and North Africa, monitoring social media, writing analysis features and news stories, verifying User Generated Content (UGC) and selecting and translating articles from the Arabic press.
Between November 2013 and February 2014, I worked as an Associate Public Information Officer at the UN Secretariat in New York. I was covering the Syrian conflict and contributing to the UN’s outreach activities through social media analysis.
I have a masters degree in international relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science. I also have a masters degree in international law from the School of Oriental and African Studies.
